Senior Systems Engineer

Biomated Solutions services a wide variety of clients. Most work consists of a mixture of Hardware, Software, and Mechanical design. Project's range in size from multi-year development to next day quick turn solutions. Development of custom firmware utilizing the stm32 series of microcontroller's. All firmware is written in C and utilizes a wide array of communication protocols depending on the project most commonly SPI, I2C, UART, USB-CDC, and Modbus RTU. Development of embedded GUI's in PyQt5, QML, and Qt. Development of web interfaces in React with TypeScript and server's using Python. Electrical Design using OrCad for items ranging from PCB's to Control Cabinets and Cables. Mechanical Design using AutoDesk Inventor. Hardware Debugging using Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, DMM, Digital Power Supplies, Thermal Imaging Camera, etc. Development of Control and Automation System's using CODESYS running on WAGO PLC's and FESTO PLC's Commonly Used Hardware: Toradex, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone Black, WAGO PFC200

Designed REST API using Node.js, PostgreSQL with Postgis spatial extension and Redis. Developed User Interface for internal tooling with Reactjs for administrative tasks. Implemented monthly billing system using Stripe and email notification system using SendGrid. Developed microservices in both Haskell and Python for handling email notification system, billing, housing search suggestions, analytics, and various site cleanup operations, as well as image manipulation via sharp/NodeJS. Deployed docker containerized site on Digital Ocean with image storage using S3.

Developed Control system in C on micro controller for Pulmonary and Abdominal Simulation device used for R&D and Competitive Marketing. Developed User Interface for Pulmonary and Abdominal Simulator in Python and C for control of embedded device over serial. Developed User Interface for viewing test results in Reactjs being served data from a Flask Rest API. Developed and Executed test protocols for various devices in Ethicon's medical device portfolio as well as designed fixtures in Solidworks for testing.

Worked extensively with Supply Chain Management, Quality Control, and Incoming Quality Control for demand planning and preparation.
